Decision analytic support model to guide implementation of laboratory assay

Cases 30 Jan 2019 |

Our client noticed that the uptake of one of their laboratory assays used to detect a bacterial infection, was lagging behind on other Western European countries, and would like to realize an increase in the implementation of this analysis in Dutch hospital laboratories. Therefore, the client requested Panaxea to develop a decision analytic support model to guide this implementation. Interviews with key stakeholders were carried out to analyze factors that either facilitate or prevent uptake of this assay, and to identify the most important target groups. A literature analysis and additional interviews were performed to collect data that served as input for the decision analytic model. This model could be populated with hospital-specific data, and could thereby guide implementation decisions at local and hospital level, by indicating the expected cost-effectiveness of the uptake of this laboratory assay.
